Washington, Feb 1 (ANI): Reports indicate that the Vice Chancellor of Manipal University recently visited the University of Kentucky to discuss opportunities for comprehensive collaboration between the two universities.
"Internationalization is a critical element of our top 20 strategic plan," said Dr. Kumble R. Subbaswamy, Vice Chancellor of Manipal University.
"Forming a strong partnership with the largest private university in India will bring greater opportunities for our students and faculty to become global citizens," he added.
A gift of a videoconference system to Manipal University, made possible by a donation through the University of Kentucky and Polycom, enhances the partnership and increases the possibility of a health center alliance for pediatric and family medicine residents to make rounds at the children's wards at Manipal Hospital.
"In order to work together, we felt it was important that videoconference technology was readily available to the Manipal University faculty and students in health-related colleges," said Rob Sprang, director UK's HealthCare Kentucky TeleCare Network.
The University of Kentucky currently has a memorandum of understanding (MoU) and cooperative agreement with Manipal University through International Affairs within UK's Provost Office. (ANI)
