Nov 13: The Shoaib Akhtar’s ruthless on-field performance mixes up with lot of aggression forces everyone to believe that the controversy king of Pakistani cricket has no emotions at all but this tour of India has certainly been a revelation for many of people and specially in the media circuit, as they discovered the softer side of this fiercest person to be identified.

The speedster proved everybody wrong by showing his generous side, which appears an image makeover of Pakistan cricket's bad boy. On Monday, when most of the Indian and Pakistani cricketers preferred to remain on their own, speedster Shoaib Akhtar planned his day out to have a inimitable meeting with 'special' children here in the City of Nawabs’.

Akhtar visited the Chetna Institute for mentally challenged, deaf and dumb students in Aliganj area. Akhtar distributed sweets among the selected group of the children present at the school. The school has over 250 mentally-challenged, hearing and visually impaired children.

He chatted with group of children and also played few games with them. Akhtar said he associates himself with charity because it gives him satisfaction and it is his moral responsibility also.

“I don’t care how media portrays me. Those who know me are aware what kind of person I am.

I think it’s my social responsibility to do something for such children,” Akhtar said.

Earlier the Rawalpindi express spent his Diwali morning with children from the Mother Teresa Missionaries of Charity in Chandigarh. He caught everybody by surprise by walking into a Special Home for Children, and sharing a few moments with children of the Home.

This may be Shoaib Akhtar's first charity visit in India but this is nothing new for the bowler, as he had already done a lot for kids in Pakistan and Australia.
