Bangalore, Jan 23 (ANI): Flower lovers are making a beeline for the flower show at the historic Lalbagh Gardens in Bangalore.
Organised jointly by the Karnataka State Horticulture Department and Mysore Horticultural Society, the flower show aims to bring people together to enjoy the nature and know more about the variety of flowers and plants grown in and around the city.
A model of the Qutab Minar made of 100,000 flowers, mainly roses, was the star attraction of the annual Republic Day flower show.
A lady in a classical dance posture made of flowers also attracted visitors.
Over one lakh varieties of flowers are displayed in the show.
"I haven't seen anything like that, but it would be great to see that sort of a thing. I like all big displays of flowers where they have been put together into different shapes, it looks really great," said Katherine, a London tourist.
Many rare flowers are also on the exhibit in the show.
"It's absolutely beautiful. I had no idea...doing out here. So it was a spontaneous idea to come out and look. And I really liked it," said Ivan, a German tourist.
Lal Bagh Gardens also have a collection of famous Botanical species and is therefore referred as Lal Bagh Botanical Gardens as well.
Though people in large numbers visit the Lalbagh Gardens usually, the garden gets a festive look around the Republic Day celebrations when the flower show is held in it. (ANI)
