KG Sector/Shidharwan Border Outpost (J-K), Jan 20 (ANI): Poonch Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Manmohan Singh has said there has been rise in the number of infiltration attempts from the Pakistan side in Jammu and Kashmir state.
"There is wild growth at the border fencing, they burn it so that our fencing can be damaged and they can enter into the Indian territory. So far there have been 5-6 attempts, but our forces were alert and they prevented them. So far there is no such information on infiltration," he told here on Tuesday.
There have been six infiltration attempts so far in this year. Last year the number was 43.
The infiltration bids have become recurring events despite a ceasefire between the two rmies and a three-metre high barbed wire security-fence along most of the 742 kilometers (460-miles) long Line of Control (LoC). (ANI)
