New Delhi, Jan 18 (ANI): The Karkardooma Court will on Monday hear chargesheets filed against Congress leader Sajjan Kumar in connection with the 1984 anti-Sikh riots case.
The first chargesheet relates to the killing of five persons in the Delhi Cantonment area, while the second chargesheet pertains to the death of innocent people in the Sultanpuri area.
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has also filed a closure report in a case related to riots in the Mangolpuri area.
The CBI had on Wednesday (January 13) filed chargesheets against Kumar and others in two separate cases relating to the 1984 anti-Sikh riots.
The chargesheets were filed before Delhi Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Kaveri Baweja at the Tis Hazari Court complex.
This was for the first time the CBI chargesheeted Sajjan Kumar.
The CBI chargesheeted Kumar and others under the Indian Penal Code (IPC) Section 302, 153-A and 120-B.
After chargesheets were filed the court transferred all the cases to Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Lokesh Kumar in Karkardooma court, as hearing of all cases under trial relating to the anti-Sikh riots are being held here.
On December 31, 2009,Delhi Lt Governor Tejendra Khanna gave the go -ahead to the CBI to prosecute Kumar. (ANI)
