Cuttack, Dec 20(ANI): Sri Lankan skipper Kumar Sangakkara on Sunday said that every player in the team is treated equally and weighed on the merit of their performance.
Addressing the media in Cuttack, the venue of the third one-day international (ODI) against India, Sangakkara said: "When you have to drop guys like Sanath Jayasuriya, the legend, you want to do the best for the side and for the country. You look towards winning the matches and for that you want the right combinations."
"Every player knows that's the same, whether it's Murli, Sanath or anyone else. Every one is treated equally and weighed on the merit of the performance," he added.
Sangakkara also said that all rounder Angelo Mathews has gone back home due to the injury that he suffered during the second ODI at Nagpur, where by they won by three wickets and levelled the five match series 1-1.
Earlier, in the first ODI at Rajkot, India had survived a thrilling Sri Lankan chase to win by three runs. (ANI)
