Udhampur (Jammu and Kashmir), Dec 9 (ANI) : The Security agencies are maintaining high alert along the Indo- Pak borders to stop the infiltration into the Kashmir valley from the Pakistani side.
There were reported attempts by the militants to sneak into the Valley prior to the winter snowfall blocking the mountain passes.
Briefing the media here Jammu and Kashmir Director General of Police (DGP) Kuldeep Khudda, said: "Certain Pakistan-based militant groups have stepped up their efforts to push infiltrators from across the Line of Control, (LoC)."
"Before the Passes close in January, it has been seen that they (Pakistan) try to push in more infiltrators. Our forces on the borders are alert for this possibility and as in the past, they will be dealt with on the borders. If any of them tries to sneak in, he will be dealt with," Khudda said.
According to the official reports nearly 395 infiltration attempts were reported this year as compared to 342 in 2008. (ANI)
