Hyderabad, Dec 4 (ANI): The Andhra Pradesh Government on Friday ordered the closure of all educational institution in the Telangana region following the death of a sympathizer.
A person identified as Srikanth set himself ablaze four days ago protesting the arrest of Telagana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) chief K Chandrasekhar Rao.He succumbed to burn injuries in a hospital early this morning.
According to sources, Srikanth had doused kerosene and set himself ablaze at L B Nagar area of the city while participating in a pro -Telangana dharna.
Twenty eight year old Srikanth was from Nalagonda in the Telangana region pursuing physiotherapy course in a private college.
This is the second incident after a fresh agitation was launched by the TRS demanding separate statehood to the region.
On December 1, a constable had committed suicide by shooting himself in support of Telangana at Kamareddy of Nizamabad district.
Meanwhile, Chandrashekhar Rao who is on a fast-unto-death is undergoing treatment at the Nizams Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS) Hospital, after being shifted from Khammam.
The State Government has intensified security arrangements as TRS activists started indulging in violent activities.
Earier, this week TRS activists burnt former Union Minister Renuka Choudhary's camp office at Khammam and several vehicles in Osamnia University. (ANI)
