No talks with 'beast' extremists: Gilani

Islamabad, Tue, 17 Nov 2009 ANI

Islamabad, Nov.17 (ANI): Pakistan Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani has ruled out talks with extremists, saying the South Waziristan operation would be taken to its conclusive end.

Speaking in the National Assembly, Gilani termed extremists as 'beasts' and said no talks would be held with them.

"There can be talks with humans, what talks can be held with these beasts?" The Dawn quoted Gilani, as saying

"This is not the time for dialogue. This time the operation in South Waziristan would be carried out conclusively," he added.

Responding to a question by Awami National Party (ANP) leader Pervaiz Khan, who complained that the government has no road maps for the war hit region, Gilani said the government has already prepared an exit policy in consultation with the military for Malakand division and the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA).

"We have a roadmap, we have a strategy, and have formulated an exit policy in consultation with the army," Gilani said.

Meanwhile, Information and Broadcasting Minister Qamar Zaman Kaira defended the Gilgit-Baltistan elections inside the House.

Responding to a question, Kaira termed the polls as 'free, fair and transparent'.

It may be noted that various political parties particularly the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) had complained of massive frauds during the November 12 elections. (ANI)
