Ahmedabad, Oct 1 (ANI): President Pratibha Patil has said Mahatma Gandhi's idea of all round development was a key to stable and a secure society.
Addressing a gathering here on Wednesday, President Patil said, "Gandhiji gave the message that our task would not be complete unless we wipe the tears of each and every poor in this country so only when each and every section of the society is able to benefit from the country's development only then we would be able to set up a stable and a secure society."
Patil who is on a four-day visit to the state would be visiting Gandhiji's Sabarmati Ashram today. She will attend a function at the Sardar Patel Memorial in Shahibaug to inaugurate a new hall.
She will also visit Porbandar on October 2, the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi before going to Sasan Gir- the only home of Asiatic lions in India.
President Patil will visit the wildlife sanctuary at Gir on October 4. On the following day, she is likely to visit Diu, ending her visit to Gujarat by visiting Rajkot in the evening before returning to New Delhi. (ANI)
