Lucknow, Sep 24 (ANI): Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi breached his security on Wednesday evening during a surprise visit to Uttar Pradesh.
Gandhi left the Uttar Pradesh Government furious by his step. The Mayavati led Government has now decided to file an official complaint against him to the Centre.
Gandhi reportedly reached Lucknow at around 4 p.m.and then four vehicles in his cavalcade are said to have reached Barabanki before proceeding to Gonda.
Gandhi's visit kept everyone guessing about what he was up to during his surprise visit.
It took more than six hours for the Uttar Pradesh administration to gather information about Rahul's visit to the state.
According to sources, the secrecy behind his visit was being seen as a move initiated by Special Protection Group (SPG) in the wake of the recent attack on the Shatabdi Express train in Haryana in which Rahul was travelling.
Gandhi's visit was aimed at having a first-hand account of the status of Priyadarshini - a self-help group scheme launched by him in 2002.
The Priyadarshini Scheme, was initially limited to Rae Bareli and Sultanpur in Uttar Pradesh, but recently was extended to ten other districts in the state including some in the drought ravaged Bundelkhand region and in eastern UP. (ANI)
