Islamabad, Sun, 20 Sep 2009 ANI

Islamabad, Sep. 20 (ANI): Pakistan Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani has reportedly decided to take action against federal population minister Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan for her alleged use of 'un-parliamentary remark' against the information secretary of a PML-Q faction during a talk show.

According to The Dawn, Gilani assured Tariq over phone that disciplinary action would be taken against the minister.

Gilani is also reported to have offered his apology to Tariq on his government's behalf.

Sources said that Awan's remark have embarrassed the top PPP leadership, and some of them even want the minister to quit.

Gilani is said to be considering the option.

Feeling the heat, Awan has started meeting party leaders to drum up support. She recently met Information Minister Qamar Zaman Kaira to gather his support. (ANI)
