Faizabad (Uttar Pradesh), Aug.26 (ANI): Flood victims in Uttar Pradesh's Faizabad district are complaining that the local administration has not taken note of their pitiable condition.
These affected people are villagers and most of them have lost almost most of their belongings.
Four deaths have so far been reported here, as Saryu and Gaghra rivers in Faizabad district continue to flow above the danger mark here.
The prevailing circumstances here have led to exodus of many villagers and about a thousand villagers are compelled to live in temporary shelters.
The villagers say that they cannot continue for long on the meagre ration provided by the authorities.
"Since the floods have swept away our homes we are here. We have lost our crops, everything... we are managing somehow. We got 15 kilograms of rice, five kilos of potato and a packet of salt and matchbox five days ago. We are a family of seven and the ration is given for a month," said Shanti, a villager.
Villagers' livestock are also facing a miserable time. The villagers say that none from the authorities have bothered to visit them and enquire about their plight.
"No body came to see us. When we have nothing to feed ourselves how cn we feed our livestock," said Mati, another villager.
