Dantewada, July 27 (ANI): Four more bodies of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel were recovered on Monday, raising the number of causalities form Sunday's Maoist landmine attack to six.
According to Dantewada's Superintendent of Police, Amresh Mishra the four bodies were found 20 meters from the blast site.
About 24 personnel of the 111the battalion of the CRPF fell victim to a powerful landmine blast late on Sunday, as they were conducting a routine patrol in two separate vehicles in the district.
Six injured personnel were shifted to the Dantewada's District Government Hospital, where two succumbed to their injuries.
Mishra informed that troopers in the other vehicle fired at the heavily armed guerrillas who returned fire for a while before disappearing in the nearby forests. (ANI)
