Srinagar, July 13 (ANI): Security forces arrested two militants of Pakistan based Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terror group, who planned to blow up a dam in Kashmir.
Mohammad Shafakat and Mohammad Adnan were arrested from the forests of Shamashabari range in Kupwara district, 120 km from Srinagar.
The militants infiltrated into Kashmir to attack Indian security forces, an official said.
"After their recruitment and training in a LeT training camp outside Muzaffarabad in Pakistan occupied Kashmir, they have infiltrated through the Lepa valley to carry out attacks on Indian security forces," said S.Mitra, General Officer Commanding (GOC) 28th division, Indian army.
During an interrogation, the militants revealed that at least 15 militants were being trained in Pakistan administered Kashmir for an attack on Baghliar dam across river Chenab in Kashmir.
"I met one of the 15 men who are being trained to attack the Baghliar dam. He told me that they are planning to attack the dam this year," said Shafakat. (ANI)
