More detail about Romania

Romania is One of the Newest EU Members

Romania, like many other countries in Europe, is a part of the European Union. A big point about Romania is that it is a country that is relatively new to the EU. Romania joined the EU at the start of 2007.

This is considered to be one of the greatest changes with regards to the ways how Romania has evolved over time. Romania originally operated under communist law for a period of time. However, the country has evolved to where it runs with a republic type of government. In fact, the country had a new constitution established in 1991.

A fully democratic system for voting on people for the government in Romania has been in place since the end of communism. A number of different political organizations have been formed around Romania as well.

The governmental control by communist forces has been eliminated. Some communist governmental members had been in power for a small part of the 1990s. However, these members have been dropped since then.

The advancement of democracy in Romania and its adoption into the EU have not been without any problems. There have been some substantial inflation charges around Romania in the last couple of years. The GDP in Romania has also contracted in size in recent years. This is due to increased values of different items and a lack of wage growth in some markets. A substantial drought that impacted local agricultural processes also harmed the country in recent years.

The support in Romania for the Euro and the general rise in the Euro in recent years should help to ensure that Romania will get back on its feet. The country is expected to have a higher rise in its GDP in 2011. The exact value of what could happen with the GDP is not clear though.
