Concerns About the Operation of North Korea
The Democratic People?s Republic of Korea, which is better known as North Korea,
has dealt with a substantial dictatorship since the country was unable to occupy
the Republic of Korea, or South Korea, in the Korean War. North Korea has
evolved to where it has shunned outside influences.
North Korea has long interpreted the United States as a severe threat to the
country. This the point of how the United States has expressed interested in
getting the two Koreas to become unified again.
Also, the country has not been able to manage itself to where it can handle
finances and its economy in a proper manner. A key point in this comes from how
North Korea has operated without outside influences for decades. This lack of
trust in other countries has caused North Korea to become reliant on
international assistance.
In fact, North Korea has gone as far as to imprison those who go into the
country illegally. This is done as a means of keeping outside influences from
becoming a problem in the country.
There are also worries as to how the country is dealing with dangerous items
that could be used as weapons against South Korea or other countries around the
world. This includes the development of missiles and nuclear devices that could
be converted into nuclear weapons if needed.
The fear of the ways how North Korea has acted has prompted many of the people
in the country to escape to other countries. Many people have flocked to China
as that country has become more open to outside ideas. People have also been
refused to get into South Korea through North Korea due to the harsh stance that
North Korea has towards its southern neighbor. Overall, it is not clear as to
how many people have left the country this way.
