Anna hazare, the 74-year old Gandhian who pick up the gauntlet of cleaning the Indian society from corruption has attracted the media attention most through out the year. Anna Hazare with his supporters became the social icon for Indian common persons. The members of Anna Hazare team, known as Team Anna has presented the government 'Jan Lokpal Bill' to pass in the parliament and to implement in the country to wipe out the corruption in government.
The government earlier denied, but after several agitation, protest and hunger strike, became ready to present and pass lokpal bill.
But the row continued as government presented the alleged 'powerless' lokpal in October, which it had to take back due to strong protest in the country.
Government became ready to hold the meeting with Team Anna and to listen them carefully and also invited them to include five members of Team Anna in the panel of Lokpal drafting committee.
After a series of drama, the Lokpal bill was introduced in the Lok Sabha with other two bills - Constitutional Amendment Bill and Whistleblowers Protection Bill.
The government became successful to pass Lokpal bill and Whistleblower protection bill but failed to pass constitutional amendment bill.
However, Anna Hazare and Team Anna protested this move of government and alleged it for cheating the entire nation.
Anna Hazare and his team sat on Anshan (hunger strike) at MMRDA ground Mumbai on the 27th December when bill was tabled in the Lok Sabha house, but Anna discontinued his Anshan only in the second day by viewing the poor response of the government, lack of supporters' crowd and his poor health.
