Aloe vera is a succulent plant belonging to the plant family Xanthorrhoeaceae. The plant is mostly known for its wide range of medicinal properties. The leaves are serrated, thick and fleshy, green to grey-green in colour. The plant is abundantly used in alternative medicines for the treatment of several ailments and preparation of several herbal medicines.
