IPL Deccan Chargers Team Profile

The Deccan Chargers IPL team boasts of some illustrious names from the cricketing world; however, it surprisingly finished last in IPL 2008 season. But the Hyderabad team are back with new vigour in IPL 2009 under the captaincy of Adam Gilchrist to stake claim to the IPL crown.

Bought for $107 million by Deccan Chronicle, the reputed south Indian newspaper group, the Deccan Chargers has the following players on its roll – Adam Gilchrist (Captain), Herschelle Gibbs, Rohit Sharma, R.P. Singh, Abhinav Kumar, V.V.S. Laxman, Scott Styris, Andrew Symonds, Chamara Silva, Chaminda Vaas, Kalyan Krishna, Abhinav Kumar, Harmeet Singh, Nuwan Zoysa, Ryan Harris, Venugopal Rao and others.

Robin Singh, the experienced fielding coach of the national cricket team, is coaching the Deccan Chargers IPL team and the effect showed in their first match when the Deccan Chargers under Adam Gilchrist defeated the Kolkata Knight Riders resoundingly.
