Gilani says US drone strikes violate Pakistan sovereignty

Boao (China), Apr 2 (ANI): Pakistan Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani has said that US drone attacks violate the sovereignty of the country and created a negative impact.

Gilani stressed that drone attacks have led to misunderstandings between Pakistan and the United States, The News reports.

Gilani was speaking at a forum in Boao titled "Asia in a Changing World: towards a healthy and sustainable development."

The News quoted him, as saying that the fate of Pak-US ties will be decided through parliamentary recommendations and would be based on mutual respect and interest.

Gilani said Pakistan has united religious and political parties against terrorism and extremism.

He also expressed the hope that Asian countries would enhance cooperation and augment ties to achieve shared progress and prosperity.

He suggested that Asian countries should use platforms like the Boao Forum to promote in-depth cooperation.

"I believe we can overcome obstacles and stay on the path of healthy and sustainable development," he said. (ANI)
