United Nations, the largest organization in the world came in to existence in the year 1945 just after the demise of the great World War II with aims to bring back the peace in the world to make human life fruitful, peaceful and tranquill. But later on its primary motive became to facilitate the cooperation in the world with all its countries in international law, security, human rights, social fields and all the other dimensions of life that add satisfaction to a man?s life. Presently it consists of 192 member countries through out the world with the headquarters in New York, America. The UN has 5 administrative bodies -The General Assembly -The Security Council -The Secretariat -The Economic and Social Council -The International Court of Justice Other specific bodies are UNICEF, UNDP, UNESCO, ENFPA, UNIC, WB, WHO that carries out the aims and objectives of the organization in their own field. The supreme of the United Nations is the secretary-General Dr. Ban-ki-Moon from North Korea. The UN accepts six major languages of the world as its functioning languages- English, French, Chinese, Russian, Spanish and Arabic. General Assembly is the largest governing body and in this assembly issues from various areas are passed by major votes and are worked out. In Security Council only security issues are passed to keep peaceful relationship among all the countries and measures are taken to cement the peace between the countries. Secretariat is the apex body of taking decisions headed by the Secretary General. International Court of Justice is the supreme Justice council in the world that analyzes and gives judgment to the rift between the countries of the world. The prime works of United Nations is peace keeping and security, protection of rights and humanitarian cooperation, social and economic development of its member countries. UN is mainly funded by its member countries and carries out its issues and works in the needy sectors and the countries that necessitate it immediately.
