Iskcon Temple
Iskcon temple, also known as Sri Sri Radha Parthasarathi Mandir is a Vaishnav temple of Lord Krishna and Radharani, and hence justifies the name Radha Parthasarathi. Founded in 1998, the temple is Hare Krishna Hills, in the East of Kailash area of New Delhi, India. In Vaishnavism, lord krishna is considered to be the most merciful god.
The foundation of Isckon is is laid with the principle to introduce all the people in world with universal principles of self-realization and God consciousness to understand the real meaning of spirituality , unity and peace.
Iskcon emphasizes to the teachings of Vedas and Vedic scriptures, and also follows the Bhagavad-gita and Srimad Bhagavatam. Iskcon follows a daily routine of worship that includes six arties everyday. These are:
- Mangala Aarti
- Tulsi Aarti
- Dhoop Aarti
- Raj-Bhoga Aarti
- Pushpa Aarti
- Sandhya Aarti
This is followed by six bhogas to the dietes and the the the clothes are also changed twice a day for prayer.
In Iskcon, the festival of Janamashtmi that is considered as the birth date of Lord Krishna, is awesome to watch. As it is celebrated here at a very large scale. During this period, thousands of devotees from every part of world gather here to celebrate this auspicious occasion. The temple is decorated beautifully and looks amazing at this time and the spirit and enthusiasm of the devotees is on the peak level. Aarti, Bhajans and many events are organised at this time with the aim to provide peace to body, mind and soul.
