British comedy 'The Office' to have Russian remake

London, July 26 (ANI): The award-winning BBC sitcom 'The Office' is heading for a Russian remake, it has been revealed.
The news of the Russian remake came to surface after a licensing deal was agreed between BBC Worldwide and Russia's Channel One.
A total of 24 half-hour episodes will be recorded and producers can develop their own scripts, which do not have to follow the original British plots, reports BBC.

As of now, no details of the new show's cast have been announced.
"The Office" has spawned versions in countries including the United States.
The original BBC show was developed by Stephen Merchant and Ricky Gervais, who starred as Brent and has since gone on to star in films like "Stardust". (ANI)
