Ex-Army personnel protest against Sixth Pay Commission recommendations

Tue, 01 Jan 2008 ANI

New Delhi/ Amritsar, July 6 (ANI): Ex-Army personnel took out a protest march in New Delhi demanding a review of pay commission recommendations.

The protesters said they had taken out the protest march to bring to notice to the political leadership of the country the grave injustice done to the military personnel and that if their demands were not met the national security could be in jeopardy.

"The report of the Sixth Pay Commission has caused harm to the present and ex-servicemen of the Army. So we want that these recommendations should not be accepted and should be reviewed," said Dayan, Retired Colonel.

After the recommendations were made public the ex-servicemen had put forth their case to the Government but didn't get any response, forcing them to agitate.

Meanwhile in Amritsar city too, ex-servicemen of the Army took out a protest march to raise their voice for their cause.

"We were discriminated against the Indian Administrative Services (I.A S) officers in the recommendations of the Sixth Pay Commission. So we the army people got together and decided to protest peacefully because in India only those who protest are heard. If our demands are not met, we will resort to other ways," said G.S. Sandhu, Retired Colonel.

The demands of ex-servicemen include one rank one pension, guaranteed government employment, formation of ex-service commission, representations of ex-servicemen in all the bodies where issues affecting the interests of ex-servicemen were considered.

The United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government has drawn flak from various quarters over the recommendations of the Sixth Pay Commission. (ANI)

dear friends,
i have gone through all of your anxiety to knjow ur revised salaries/pensions. but with due apology i should say that were we PBORS in a begging stage comparatively to the officers, we are requesting the govt to increase the monetary benefits for SURVIVAL whereas the officers are demanding 'status and position' in thier retired society. what a difference????????
friends, gone are thye days, fight for our PBORS legitimate demand. i am after retirement fighting with the govt for the last 30 years, i am also ex-Serviceman served in the Army 16 years. we have formed two Ex-servicemen organisations at National level and got them registered, join in them viz., "NATIONAL EX-SERVICEMEN COORDINATION COMMITTEE" (Regd No 2171/1997-98) and "ALL INDIA EX-SERVICEMEN BANK EMPLOYEES FEDERATION" (Regd N0. 10 of 1979)> for further information on any matter, pl contact me> M N Rao., M.Com., LL.B., LL.M., M.B.A., CAIIB., Manager (Retd) Indian Bank., Member Judge (Retd) R.R.Dist and Hyderabad Dist Forum-I and III, Consumer Disputes : 040-27639842; mobile:9989421354: # flat NO. 203, Pooja Towers, St.NO.11, Himayatnagar, HYDERABAD-500 029. I am a retired Hon Capt and would like to mention here that the present UPA Government has not done anything for the serving and retired Defence personnel.During the BJP Government Mr George Fernandez and the Government has done maximum to the defence personnel.ECHS which was introduced in his tenure as Defence minister has not been properly taken care by the present Government. There was a hope when Mr AK Antony became the defence Minister, but he utterly failed in his duties, probably the Finance Minister may not be in favour of any help to the defence forces. Any a day will definately come and sure that the next Government will review our requirement and requests if now now.

Sir,
Why Govt.is neglected Defence retired employees for their benifits from 6th Pay commission.

The pay commission has already announced the civil employees benifits and also released payments.

Are the ex defence people are burdensome on society. or their potential can be utilised by government in some more better ways to yield benifit to society from young energetic and matured, exposed & experienced defence force in the society.

So any one want to share on methods how you can advise about the Ex defence force can be put to better utilisation to utilise for society.

We the united forum of esm members post our protest the step motherly treatment of the civilian officials bureaucracy that we are deprived of our just and right demands for at least decent living. But to our shock that we R kept dumped.Resettlement, recruitment and other welfare are at stand still . Virtually there is no adequate fund allotted to the existing schemes which is very low with campared to the price hike even the P M educational scholar ship fund were not released by the P M O.We are dejected /deprived of off our rights. If NOT thee govt.acted moderately the we rise to the consequence to the political command by virtue. Lets unite in the united forum to fight back demand for a fair listing.

A BIG GAP IS MAINTAINED BETWEEN THE SALARIES OF OFFICERS AND MEN.IT SEEMS THAT DEFENCE SERVICES NEED ONLY LEAVE APPLICATION SIGNING AUTHORTIES.A JAWAN IS NOT BEING PAID EVEN 50% OF HIS HARDSHIPS AND DEDICATION.THE TIME IS NOT FAR WHEN GOVT WOULD BE SEARCHING YOUTHS FOR DEFENCE AND PARA MILLATRY SERVICES IN BROAD DAY LIGHT WITH A 4 CELL TOURCH,BUT NOBODY WOULD TURN UP TO JOIN FORCES.AFTERALL THE YOUNGER GEN IS NOT GOING TO TOLERATE THE DISCRIMINATION.SHAMSHER SHEORAN

While people are not ready to relocate for the meager pay, the DP relocate without even thinking. In most of the cases, the leave their beloved and serving for the nation. Is it not the responsibility of the GOI to give a good package and the retirement and pension benefits atleast through the CPC which offers the recommendations only decade after decade and that too for the name sake. It is the high time that we must get our proper share of benefits proportionate to our dedication to the country. May God Bless.

AS IN OTHER SERVICES CHILDRENS OF EX SERVICEMEN SHOULD BE GIVEN PREFERENCE OVER THEIR COUNTERPARTS IN SELECTION SPECIALLY IN SSB,PARAMILITERY SERVICES,OTHER CENTRAL GOVERTMENT JOBS,BECAUSE EX SERVICEMEN SPENDS EVERY THING FOR THE HIGHER EDUCATION ON THEIR CHILDRENS, AND MOREOVER THEIR CHILDRENS MORE SINCEER AND DISCIPLINED THAN OTHERS.

NEED TO REMIND DEFENCE IS HARDSHIP . DEFENCE ITSELF MEANS ITS HARD, INSPITE OF KNOWING THIS, WHY SO MUCH OF DIFFERENCE IN SALARIES ASWELL AS PESNSION. NOW WELL EDUCATED AS COMPETENT EX SERVICEMEN ARE JOBLESS. THIS IS THE RIGHT TIME PLEASE DO SOMETHING FOR EX SERVICEMEN, THEY BEING TREATED AS THIRD RATED INCASE OF PENSION AS WELL AS JOBS eventhough they r challenging

The expectation and the CPC stand are very large difference.I think those who are serving in defence are wasting their time. When they are leaving the service they are lining in front of the ECHS only.
