Washington, Jan 13(ANI): An Ohio civil rights panel has termed the 'White Only' sign posted near a Cincinnati swimming pool as a 'racist' act maintaining a previous finding.
According to the civil right panel, landlord Jamie Hein, who had claimed that the black girl's hair product had clouded the swimming pool, and therefore had discriminated against the girl by putting up the sign near the pool.
It said this was violation of the Ohio Civil Rights Act.
The Ohio Civil Rights Commission voted against reassessing it's verdict of September 29, CBS News reports.
"An investigation revealed that Hein in May posted on the gated entrance to the pool an iron sign that stated, Public Swimming Pool, White Only," said the commission statement.
According to the commission, several witnesses confirmed that the sign was posted, and the landlord had indicated that she posted it because the girl used chemicals in her hair that would make the pool cloudy. (ANI)
