Washington, Jan 11(ANI): US First Lady Michelle Obama has claimed that she is the 'biggest confidante' of US president Barack Obama.
She also stressed that she doesn't unnecessarily interferes in the policy making decision at the White House.
"I am one of his biggest confidantes, but he has dozens of really smart people who surround him," said Michelle in the first clip aired from her interview with "CBS This Morning" host Gayle King.
Jodi Kantor's 'The Obamas' has portrayed Michelle as an influential force in the president's decision making. The book went on sale this Tuesday.
Michelle also claimed that she does have discussions and conversations with the president over important issues but Obama ultimately considers the advice of policy specialists.
"I am not an expert on most of the issues he is dealing with on a daily basis. So I want him and he wants to be talking to the people with the most information," she adds.
She also said that the kind of relationship she shares with Obama allows her to talk freely with him, The Politico.com reports.
"True that I talk very candidly to my husband about how I feel, but that's the kind of relationship we have," she adds.
She also said that whenever she has any concern, she doesn't reach out to his advisors like former chief of staff Rahm Emanuel, but straightaway goes to the president.
"I wouldn't go to Rahm about something that I would talk to my husband about. If I didn't agree with something, I would talk to my husband about it," she adds. (ANI)
