Washington, Jan 5(ANI): The US State Department has admitted to an error in depicting Jammu and Kashmir on its online maps and has posted revised ones.
The move comes after India had objected over the US not showing all portions of Jammu and Kashmir as its territory, after journalists having raised the issue in November 2011.
The US has also expressed satisfaction over the new maps of India and Pakistan, which have now been displayed online, The Dawn reports.
The new map represents the 1972 Line of Control that divides Kashmir by a dashed line, which according to US State Department spokesperson Victoria Nuland, reflects its unresolved status.ANI)
