Lahore, Jan 5(ANI): Veteran Indian actor Raza Murad has sought Pakistan's counterpart Veena Malik's help in securing the release of Sarabjeet Singh, who has been lodged in Pakistani jails for over 20 years.
Singh has been sentenced to death over being convicted of conducting bomb blasts in Lahore and Multan in 1990, which had killed 14 people.
Murad has launched a campaign, 'Sarabjeet Bachao Adolan', which would demand Singh's release.
"Plan involves participation of the entire Punjab entertainment industry. I'm also framing letters to the Indian prime minister and the president. Letters to the Pakistan's prime minister and president are being sent through the Pakistani embassy, as too our memorandum of protest through the Ministry of External Affairs," The Express Tribune quoted Murad, as saying.
He said he is planning to rope in Bollywood actors like Salman Khan, Shatrughan Sinha, and Raj Babbar for his campaign.
Singh's lawyer Awais Sheikh had earlier said that he anticipates bright prospects of his client's release. (ANI)
