Islamabad, Jan 5(ANI): Pakistan's Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar has stressed that her country is committed to sustained and constructive talks with India.
Khar pointed out that Indo-Pak secretary- level talks had been taken place in which all issues of bilateral importance, including that of Jammu and Kashmir, had been discussed.
Khar said that Pakistan supports an Afghan-led and Afghan-owned reconciliation process and added that the country is engaged in various forums, which aim to restore peace in fghanistan.
She added that Pakistan has vowed to carry out a 330 million dollar reconstruction work in Afghanistan, The Daily Times reports.
Khar said Pakistan's foreign policy aimed at augmenting ties with neighbouring countries, and added that the country had cooperative relations with Russia, which have improved over the years.
She added that the Pakistan government had convened an envoys' conference on the directives of the prime minister following the deadly November 26 NATO airstrikes, to reassess foreign policy.
She added that the recommendations of the conference would be presented before parliament for further deliberation.
Khar said that the envoys' conference stressed that Pakistan's foreign policy would continue to be based on respect for sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity within the framework of international law, as enshrined in the UN charter. (ANI)
