Islamabad, Fri, 30 Dec 2011 ANI

Islamabad, Dec 30(ANI): A doctor, who testified that Pakistan's security forces had killed a group of unarmed foreigners, has been shot dead at Quetta.

Dr Baqir Shah was inside his car when unidentified gunmen bombarded his vehicle with bullets.

He succumbed to his injuries in a hospital, The BBC reports.

Dr Shah had carried out the autopsies of two men and three women of Russian and Tajik origin, who were killed at a checkpoint just outside Quetta, Balochistan.

The Pakistan police had alleged that they had been militants armed with explosives.

But Dr Shah's autopsy had corroborated witnesses' statement that the five unarmed people had died after being shot several times at a distance by the security forces. (ANI)
