Lahore, Dec 26(ANI): Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) chief Syed Munawar Hasan has slammed politicians who frequently switch allegiances as opportunists, and said they cannot bring about a revolution in Pakistan.
He pointed out that politicians who had earlier abandoned the Pakistan Muslim League-N to join the Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid were now switching allegiance to the Imran Khan-led Pakistan Tehrik-I-Insaaf (PTI) party.
He said that former leader Muhammad Ali Jinnah had created Pakistan for establishing a model Islamic State and the JI alone was capable of realizing his dream.
The JI would ensure that the rule of law, justice and equality prevails in the country and would try to end exploitation and oppression, he said.
Hasan pointed out that the JI manifesto vowed to lower the prices, abolish unjust and oppressive taxes, cut down cost prices of industries and agricultural output.
He said the solution to Pakistan's problems lies in the end of US' interference in Pakistan's affairs.
"PPP and its allies were primarily responsible for the present chaos but Nawaz Sharif too had provided support to the Zardari government for over three years without this, the Zardari government could not pull on for such a long time," The Nation quoted Hasan, as saying.
He described the Memo Gate scandal as 'a serious matter because the tone of the memo and Prime Minister Gilani's speech in the National Assembly was the same and both were about the Armed Forces'.
Hasan wondered why Pakistan Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani was repeatedly challenging the army especially when Chief Justice Iftikar Ahmed Chaudhary has assured that he would not authorize any extra-constitutional change to occur in the country.
He blamed the United States and the Central Intelligence Agency rather than the Taliban for carrying out terrorism-related activities in the country. (ANI)
