Peshawar, Dec 21(ANI): The Peshawar High Court has accepted a request to make former Pakistan president General (retired) Pervez Musharraf a party in the drone attack case.
The petitioner and lawyer, Sabir urged Musharraf to make a respondent in the case because the Pakistan government had signed a 'secret deal' with the US during his tenure, The Dawn reports.
A bench consisting of Chief Justice Dost Mohammad Khan and Justice Mian Fasihul Mulk directed the petitioners Advocate FM Sabir and the Defence of Pakistan Council (DPC) to provide the court the postal address of Musharraf within seven days.
But the bench asked the petitioner how Musharraf could formally be asked to appear before it in the case as he was currently abroad.
Sabir had urged the court to direct the Pakistan government to halt drone attacks by the US because they are against the collective will of the country.
The petitioner claimed that the US drones had killed 1,680 people and injured 2,634. (ANI)
