Islamabad, Dec 20(ANI): An Afghan National Army (ANA) officer colluded with India's Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) and Afghanistan's National Directorate of Security to launch the November 26 NATO airstrike, a Pakistan's probe has found.
About 28 soldiers were killed in the NATO airstrike in Mohmand Agency on November 26.
The incident had provoked an outrage across the country following which Pakistan sealed the NATO supply route across its border with Afghanistan and boycotted the talks on Taliban negotiations in Bonn.
The report, however, did not blame the US for the deadly airstrike, The Express Tribune reports.
Pakistan has shared the report with NATO saying that the evidence warrants action against the concerned officer.
According to the report, troops deployed at the Salala border post spotted the suspected men in a seasonal stream which, according to the US, was used by the Taliban insurgents for sneaking into the Malakand division and Swat.
The NATO helicopter attacked the border post after the Pakistani military commanders ordered to fire in accordance with the standard operating procedure (SOP) because the area was not within the patrolling jurisdiction of the Afghan National Army
The report also blamed the NATO for negligence and pointed out the officer on duty in the control room ordered the airstrike without checking the location on the map, which showed that the area is in Pakistan.
The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), however, slammed the report as 'inaccurate.'(ANI)
