Karachi, Dec 20(ANI): Pakistan Army has redeployed the liaison officers to the border coordination centres who were earlier called back following the deadly November 26 airstrike in Mohmand Agency, the NATO has said.
The Pakistan Army had earlier said these officers were called back only for consultations rather than permanently.
"This impression is not correct that border coordination centres were closed and Pakistan Army officers at these centres were called back permanently. Officers were called for consultations only and now they have gone back to the border coordination center," The News quoted an ISPR spokesperson, as saying.
"We have seen liaison officers, Pakistani officers, return to border coordination centres. General Allen has spoken to General Kayani, so we are moving in the right direction," an International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) spokesperson Brigadier General Carsten Jacobson said.
He described the return of Pakistani officials to the coordination centres as an important development. (ANI)
