Islamabad, Dec 10 (ANI): Pakistan Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani and Chief of Army Staff General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani have said firmly that the government would protect the sovereignty of the country at any cost.
They insisted any further incident like that of the November 26 NATO attack will be dealt with firmly, the Daily Times reports.
A statement released by the Prime Minister's House said that Gilani and the army chief discussed matters pertaining to national security in the backdrop of the Mohmand Agency incident.
General Kayani praised Gilani for taking steps to revamp defence capabilities aimed at effectively countering incursion into Pakistan's territory.
Assuring all-out support to Army, the prime minister said that the government and the people of Pakistan were ready to provide the armed forces all the necessary resources to bolster its defences and professional capabilities.
General Kayani affirmed Army's commitment to defending the country's sovereignty. (ANI)
