Islamabad, Dec.8 (ANI): The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Thursday rejected a plea filed against actress Veena Malik, saying reported nude pictures of her that had appeared in a magazine were published in another country, and therefore, she could not be tried in Pakistan.
A petitioner had on Wednesday moved the high court against Zahida alias Veena Malik contending that she should be tried under article 294 of Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) for obscene acts, Article 124-A for sedition, Article 140 for wearing garb or carrying token used by soldier, sailor or airman and Article 500 for defamation.
Geo News quoted High Court Justice Muhammad Anwar Kasi told the petitioner Salim Ullah Khan that as as Veena Malik's alleged naked photo shoot had taken place in India, she could only be tried in that country, if at all.
Malik has claimed that her picture in the male magazine FHM was morphed.
The petitioner contended that the conduct of Veena Malik is controversial and shameful for everybody in Pakistan and it should be stopped. (ANI)
