Islamabad, Nov 30 (ANI): A key US senator has said that the Obama administration should apologise to Pakistan if an official investigation shows that last Saturday's NATO airstrikes on Pakistani soldiers were "a mistake." enate Intelligence Committee chair Dianne Feinstein's comments came as her panel was about to hear behind closed doors from Lieutenant General Ronald Burgess, director of the US Defense Intelligence Agency, on the attacks, the Daily Times reports.
"I'm one who believes that, if we made a mistake, we should admit it, we should apologise," Feinstein, a Democrat from California, said.
But "if we didn't make a mistake, and the other side was the first one to fire on us, we're going to respond," she added.
Meanwhile, Pakistan has decided to boycott the Bonn Conference on the future of Afghanistan next month over the issue. (ANI)
