Islamabad, Nov 29 (ANI): Hundreds of protestors across Pakistan have demanded the government to break off its alliance with the United States and get out of the 'war on terror' in protest against Saturday's NATO attack on the country's soldiers.
Nearly 28 Pakistani soldiers were killed in the cross-border attack by NATO helicopters and fighter jets in Mohmand Agency early Saturday.
Lawyers went on strike across the country, demonstrating outside court buildings, chanting slogans against NATO and the US.
Hoisting black flags in courts, lawyers held a protest demonstration in the court premises and urged the government to cut its ties with Washington.
"The government should cut NATO supplies permanently, take back military bases from the US and plead that this case violates the UN Security Council mandate," The Express Tribune quoted President of Islamabad High Court Bar Association, Ashraf Gujjar, as saying.
Pakistan Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani has expressed his outrage over the NATO strikes that killed two dozen Pakistani soldiers, saying that "business as usual will not be there."
"Business as usual will not be there. We have to have something bigger that satisfies my nation and entire country," Gilani said. (ANI)
