Islamabad, Nov 26 (ANI): The political administration of the Khyber Agency has halted supplies to NATO forces in Afghanistan after being ordered by the Pakistan Government to do so following an aerial attack that killed at least 20 troops of the country near the Pak-Afghan border.
Hundreds of containers and oil tankers have been halted at a check post in Tehsil Jamrood, The News reports.
Meanwhile, Pakistan's acting Ambassador to the US Iffat Gardezi urged the foreign ministry in Washington to convey the protest to the US government urgently, The News reports.
At least 20 Pakistani troops were killed at the border post of Salala in Pakistan, while four others were wounded in the attack.
Security officials in the Mohmand tribal region near the Afghan border and a military official in Peshawar said the troops, including a major, were killed in the pre-dawn incident.
NATO had earlier confirmed it was aware of "an incident" near the border, and said it was investigating.
