Islamabad, Nov 26 (ANI): An angered Pakistan has protested against the NATO air attack on a Pakistani check post in a tribal area near the Pak-Afghan border that killed at least 20 security men, including two officers.
Pakistan's ambassador to the US Iffat Gardezi urged the foreign ministry in Washington to convey the protest to the US government urgently, The News reports.
At least 20 Pakistani troops were killed at the border post of Salala in Pakistan, while four others were wounded in the attack.
Security officials in the Mohmand tribal region near the Afghan border and a military official in Peshawar said the troops, including a major, were killed in the pre-dawn incident.
NATO had earlier confirmed it was aware of "an incident" near the border, and said it was investigating.
All entry and exit points of Mohmand Agency were reportedly sealed by the security forces after the incident. (ANI)
