Washington Post-ABC News poll says US Congress hits 25-year low rating
Washington, Nov.24 (ANI): The United States Congress has achieved its lowest favorable rating in more than 25 years, according to a new Washington Post-ABC News poll released on Wednesday.
Just 23 percent have a favorable view of Congress, while a whopping 69 percent have an unfavorable view, the poll found.
According to The Politico, this favorability number is the lowest number yet compared to Pew Research Center polls that have been conducted since 1985.
Republicans proved to have the least positive view of Congress - just 20 percent of GOPers said they have a favorable view, while 75 percent said they have an unfavorable one.
Democrats were slightly more forgiving of the institution, with 26 percent expressing a favorable outlook towards Congress and 68 percent showing an unfavorable view.
People were generally less critical of individual members of the House of Representatives than they were of Congress - 41 percent said they have a favorable view of their own member of Congress, while another 41 percent had an unfavorable view of their House representative.
The Washington Post-ABC News poll was conducted Nov. 16-20 among 1,009 adults, and has a margin of sampling error of plus or minus four percentage points. (ANI)
