Islamabad, Nov 19 (ANI): The Core Committee of ruling Pakistan People's Party met at the presidency on Friday and decided that the country's ambassador to the US, Husain Haqqani, should be given a chance to give his version on the controversial memo row.
"The meeting noted that Ambassador Husain Haqqani has been called to Islamabad to give his viewpoint to the country's leadership on the controversial memo," The Dawn quoted the President's spokesman Farhatullah Babar, as saying.
"It is observed that natural justice demands that the ambassador is given a fair opportunity to give his version on the controversy," he added.
Haqqani would reportedly President Asif Ali Zardari after coming back to Pakistan to clear his position that he had nothing to do with the memo.
Earlier, Pakistan Interior Minister Rehman Malik had said that a probe into the Haqqani memo controversy was underway, and that facts would soon be presented to the nation. (ANI)
