London, Nov 13 (ANI): An arachnophobic party entertainer has broken the world record for the largest sculpture with inflatables by making a 46ft-wide spider with 3,000 balloons.
Adam Lee, who is terrified of spiders, laboured for six days to create the giant arachnid and hung it from the ceiling of a hall in Grand Mound, Washington.
"Great Wolf Lodge hired me to create the giant spider and I assumed if I could pull it off, it would be a world record," the Daily Mail quoted Lee as saying.
"I accepted the challenge even though spiders scare me to death," he said.
The previous record holder for the largest balloon sculpture was John Cassidy who used 434 modelling balloons to create a biplane in 2009.
Lee, who has smashed the previous record by nearly seven times, admitted running into major problems with his balloon sculpture as he was working entirely from an image in his head.
"I had some problems with my idea and had to make a huge adjustment," he said.
"Many witnesses didn't believe I would complete the record as time was an issue but I finished right on time," he added. (ANI)
