BRICS leaders meet to forge common stance before G-20

Cannes (France), Nov.3 (ANI): Leaders of developing countries are meeting in Cannes to coordinate their strategies and forge a common stance before the G-20 Summit kicks off later today.

 

BRICS is likely to pitch for the greater role of the multilateral forum IMF and the World Bank in resolving the Eurozone crisis.

 

So far no request for any kind of assistance has been made to the BRICS.

 

The BRICS leaders here for G20 are Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Brazilian President Dilma Rouseff, Russian President Dimitri Medvedev, Chinese President Hu Jintao and South African President Jacob Zuma.

 

G-20 later today is dominated by the Eurozone debt crisis, India will be pitching for development, global governence, illegal wealth stashed in safe havens and fiscal discipline.

 

Prime Minister Singh will hold bilateral meetings with French President Sarkozy and British Premier Cameron later in the day.By Naveen KapoorANI)
