Beijing, Oct 29 (ANI): Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Jiang Yu has said that her country will continue to maintain close communication with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), and try to resolve the Iranian nuclear issue through diplomatic negotiations.
Jiang said that China has always supported the work of the IAEA and has kept regular communication with IAEA Director General Yukiya Amano, Xinhua reports.
"China and Russia recently presented their shared views about the Iranian nuclear issue to the IAEA chief. Both countries hope the IAEA will remain independent and professional with an objective and impartial attitude, and cautiously resolve the issue based on facts," she said.
Although Jiang said China's communication with the IAEA chief is completely normal, she insisted that it would be inappropriate to reveal the content of the talks.
The IAEA will hold a meeting in November, and the Director General is preparing to present a report on the Iranian nuclear issue, Jiang added. (ANI)
