Islamabad, Oct 24 (ANI): Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said that fair elections cannot be possible as long as Pakistan People's Party (PPP) Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari is the President of Pakistan.
Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) will not accept polls under him, The Daily Times quoted him, as saying.
Shahbaz also said that he would not be silenced by baseless allegations and propaganda against his party and person. He further vowed to free the country from the politics of corruption and plunder.
Warning the federal government, he said that a civil disobedience campaign could be launched if the next general elections were not held in a fair and transparent manner in the country.
Shahbaz alleged that while the common man in Pakistan is leading a problematic life over issues like inflation, unemployment and load shedding, the leaders were enjoying luxurious lives. (ANI)
