Some allies of PPP-led Pak Govt 'corrupt', some 'terrorists': Nawaz Sharif

Dera Ghazi Khan, Oct 20(ANI): Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) chief Nawaz Sharif has said that some among the government allies were corrupt and some were involved in terrorism.

Addressing a public gathering in connection with the launch of 'Go Zardari Go' movement, Sharif said that he had never seen such a corrupt government throughout his life.

"Corruption is going on day and night," the Daily Times quoted Nawaz, as saying.

The PML-N chief rued that some people were entrenched safely as ministers despite being proven to be involved in corruption and terrorism.

"Some of them are directly involved in corruption, while brothers of some of them are also involved in corruption," he alleged, without elaborating.

The former prime minister said that Pakistan had been progressing during his tenure, but his government was toppled by a dictator.

He said he was kept in solitary confinement for 14 months and was not even allowed to attend the funeral of his father.

"This was out of sheer love for my people that I did not quit politics," he added.

Sharif said that Pakistan would have been much prosperous if his government were not toppled by a dictator. The PML-N wanted to establish peace in the country, he added. (ANI)
