Quetta, Oct 12(ANI): Pakistan Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani has offered intelligence sharing to Afghanistan for investigation into the assassination of former Afghan President and High Peace Council leader Burhanuddin Rabbani.
Rabbani, who had been tasked with trying to negotiate a political end to the war in Afghanistan, was killed on September 20 by a suicide bomber who was supposedly a peace emissary sent by the Taliban leadership.
Talking to media persons at the Quetta Cantonment, Gilani said that Pakistan was too shocked over the murder of Rabbani, and offered to collaborate with the Afghan government regarding the probe into the killing.
He offered intelligence sharing to the Afghan government to unveil the elements involved in the killing of Rabbani.
Gilani also said that Pakistan was working on the lines to devise a combined strategy with Afghanistan for counter-terrorism in the region. (ANI)
