Kuala Lumpur, Oct 8(ANI): A Malaysian Indian Congress (MIC) party leader has called on the Pakatan Rakyat, an informal political coalition controlling four state governments in the country, to give a written undertaking for appointing an Indian deputy prime minister.
MIC central working committee member K.P. Samy said the coalition should include the promise to appoint an Indian minister in its election manifesto, the Star reports.
He recalled that Selangor State Executive Councillor Xavier Jayakumar had earlier promised to appoint four Indians in ministerial positions if Pakatan came to power.(ANI)
